Allan Holdsworth is such a musician; he was never afraid of playing Live concerts. He enjoyed having a contact with the Live audience and considered on-stage performances to be a crucial element of his career.
He is known to be one of the greatest jazz musicians in the history, although in the opinion of his fans his Music is not as widely known as it should be. He started his adventure with the Music from learning how to play the saxophone, but it turned out that he is even more successful in playing the guitar. It’s quite interesting, because he started to play this instrument when he was 17 which is very late. He started to give Live performances in local clubs, but the real popularity and money awaited him in London, where he finally moved. There he started to play with bands such as Tempest (playing progressive rock) or Soft Machine. He also tried to work with a quite popular artist of those times – a drummer named Tony Williams. Unfortunately their cooperation didn’t last long, but it resulted in recording some Live albums.
In 1970s Holdsworth began to make a successful solo career. He played his Live Music during numerous concerts all over the Great Britain. Despite of that, he released more than twenty albums, which is quite impressive. Many of them consisted of his Live Music recorded during the concerts.
