Bert Jansch

Bert Jansch  is one of the most popular Scottish musicians. He is widely known because of his folk Live Music, mainly popular as an acoustic guitarist, but also as a Live Music singer and songwriter.
He recorded quite an impressive number of albums (both Live ones and recorded in the studio) and was really active as far as Live performances are concerned – starting in 1960s and continuing till now. His Music was a source of inspiration for many artists, such as Jimmy Page and Neil Young.
His first steps on the so-called stage are connected with a local folk club where he was playing Live concerts for the audience. His Music was so warmly welcomed he decided to become a professional artist. Even though it wasn’t easy at first. As he was traveling around the Europe his main source of profits was busking, which we can’t call a highly professional career connected with Music.
His moving out to London turned out to be a turning point in his career. Here he was faced with an interest in folk Music and had more opportunities than in Scotland. He met many musicians important in these times and was positively influenced by them. He started recording his albums and of course giving Live Music concerts as well. What is so exceptional in his Live Music is the fact it is a mixture of varied kinds of music: from folk to jazz, influenced by Indian music among many others.
