Live Music was extremely popular in 1960s and 1970s as far as rock in a variety of its forms is concerned. There were so many newly formed bands playing Live Music that it was really difficult to be remembered by the following generations. A band called Slade is among the groups which succeeded.
I think that the key to their popularity is a creativity, with which they approached the Music scene. They were one of the most recognizable of all groups because they were characteristic and full of charisma. Their extremely energetic Live performances became a legend. What is also unusual in their Music – not necessarily as far as its Live version is concerned – is Slade’s attitude towards the text of their songs. They are known of deliberately misspelling their songs titles. As we can see the group did her best to draw people’s attention. And they were successful.
What is also exceptional is their self-confidence as far as their Music, played Live, was concerned. They were truly motivated and believe that each of their concerts will be a sell-out. For instance, they were the first band in history to take the risk of booking Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London for a few nights.
After the peak of their Live Music popularity in early 1970s, they had a worse time – partly because the music fashion has changed. Luckily, they got an opportunity to present their Live Music during a Reading Festival which reminded the fans about band’s presence on the stage.
