22. Live Music East Yorkshire is good but difficult busicness for clubs. They have no walk-up crowd or "scene". This makes them extremely dependent on band draw. Until the time when the local music scene changes and Los Angelenos have gotten over their music-ADD, each and every music band is a ‘headline’ band.
We book 4 Live Gigs a night, every night: 8:00, 9:00, 10.00 and 11:00. Sundays we start the first band at 7:00. The set length is 45 minutes and bands have 15 minutes between sets to load in/out. One may ask "what's the benefit of me playing at 11:00 on a weeknight?" The answer is that if yourLive Music is good and you have brought large crowds that are good bar customers, you get more than just a 40 minute set.
For first time bands we book shows on a Sunday-Wednesday and ask for 30 presale tickets. It's a one time thing. Show us you can make the good Live Music and we'll never ask for it again. We're not picking on you, just covering our ass. If a band can't bring 30 people to a show, you shouldn't be playing at the Live Gig. Where else can you play? Stay at home and throw a party, or check out other venues in the area. Live Music East Yourshire at its best
